Getting away from Split

We were meant to stay in Split 3 nights instead we stayed 6.

We saw it once

Then on the 6th time seeing it I decided to selfie

By the end of that time I had had enough of sightseeing in Split so was ready to explore other places. Cue Krka National Park.

Krka National Park

It was about a two hour drive from Split, and I did sleep most of the way (best cure for motion sickness!)

Krka waterfall

It cost 100kn for tickets into the park and when you get there you can buy extra excursions, like boat trips up the lakes. I would suggest getting there early if you want to do this though. They were all sold out by the time we got there and that was about 1pm.

Krka lake

We had planned to spend 2 hours there but after about  an hour we had done most of the lakes you could get to for free. There was also a small village set up with a couple of restaurants and souvenir stores.

Krka small waterfallIt wasn’t that busy until the big waterfall and even then you could still stop and take photos. All in all it was a great and much needed way to get out of Split for a day.

Just happy to be out of Spilt

Your posts are coming at such a good time – my bf and I want to plan a trip to Croatia/potentially neighboring countries 😀 Lovely pictures!

    1. Do it. I wasn’t sure about it when we were planning but I’m so glad we did. It’s so cheap and untouched in places like Bosnia

  2. Sounds utterly luscious!

    1. It was. Also just lovely to get out of Spilt
